Question by missakerissa: How many miles should I run a day, 5 days a week, to lose 40 pounds in two months?
I’m 5’4, 17 years old, and my weight fluctuates between 231-234 pounds, usually. I have a goal of losing 40 pounds by my senior homecoming, which is in about 10 weeks from now. I know that it is very possible for me to lose 4 lbs a week at least with proper diet and exercise (please no comments about my goal, because being so heavy I will be apt to lose more weight than someone standing to lose only 10 lbs). How many miles is adequate to ensure my goal will be met? I plan to run weekdays mostly, and do it around 6pm, pushing myself until I can’t run anymore. I really need to lose a lot of weight. Tips and answers please.

i am around a year younger and i started soccer practice and i have been running 2 miles a day fro 5 days and i lost 3 pounds. i wasn’t dieting or anything it just happened. try running 3-4 miles a day ( which will make you very sore) to achieve you goal. and if you diet also then the weight will melt right off. before the 2 months.
